Experienced financial leadership, tailored advisory, and hands-on project support for
Darwin businesses and for-purpose organisations.
As businesses and organisations grow and change, their financial needs often become more complex. Reporting requirements evolve, systems and processes may no longer keep pace, and important financial projects can be difficult to progress alongside day-to-day priorities.
Applied Insights Advisory provides access to senior financial expertise without the cost or commitment of a full-time senior finance resource. We work alongside business owners, boards and management teams to strengthen financial management, improve reporting and processes, resolve complex issues and support better decision-making.
Whether you need expertise for a specific project, additional support during a period of growth or change, or ongoing financial advisory support, our approach is practical, flexible and tailored to your organisation.
We believe finance should bring clarity, not headaches. We don’t just hand over a list of recommendations
and leave you to figure it out; we work side-by-side with you to implement real solutions.

Lauren established Applied Insights Advisory to give businesses and for-purpose organisations access to senior financial expertise when they need it – whether they are undertaking a specific project, resolving longstanding financial issues, improving the way their finance function operates or navigating a period of growth or change.
We recently stepped in for a local organisation experiencing uncertainty around their financial sustainability. By conducting a deep-dive review, fixing reporting inconsistencies, and restructuring their data, we gave management full visibility over their actual performance and seamlessly transitioned them to a permanent bookkeeping solution.
Conducted a comprehensive financial review following concerns about reporting accuracy and financial sustainability. Identified reporting inconsistencies, control weaknesses, governance risks and compliance issues, then strengthened financial controls, restructured reporting and supported the transition to an external bookkeeping provider.
Reviewed and redesigned manual rostering, payroll, attendance and invoicing processes that relied heavily on individual staff knowledge. Mapped workflows, identified risks and inefficiencies, evaluated software solutions and implemented improved systems to increase automation, efficiency and business continuity.
Supported a multi-entity business through a significant acquisition and growth phase. Established finance processes and reporting frameworks, consolidated Board reporting, completed acquisition requirements, implemented new payroll systems and strengthened financial controls to support expansion.
Developed cash flow forecasts, financial models and business plans to support commercial lending and finance applications. Provided financial analysis and practical insights to help business owners secure funding, manage growth and make informed financial decisions.
Reviewed a finance function where the business owner had limited visibility over activities, workloads and capacity. Identified inefficiencies and resource constraints, then developed practical performance measures and operational metrics to improve transparency, accountability and workforce planning.
